imageAseefa Bhutto Zardari became a health activist at a very young age. She started working for the cause of a polio-free Pakistan at the age of sixteen. Her mother, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, initiated the polio eradication campaign in Pakistan and her father, former President Asif Ali Zardari pursued the mission. She was the first child in Pakistan to be administered Polio drops by her mother. Ms. Bhutto-Zardari has completed her bachelors in Politics and Sociology from Oxford Brookes University, UK and Masters in Global Health from the University College London (UCL), UK. Currently, she is the Rotary Ambassador and also a former UN Ambassador for Polio Eradication in Pakistan. As the UN Ambassador, her efforts towards the immunization campaigns, in collaboration with the Pakistani government, drastically reduced the number of polio cases. Continuing the endeavors, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is working by all possible means to execute the vision of her mother of a polio-free Pakistan so that Pakistan could contribute in reducing prevalence of this crippling disease in the world to zero.

ASEEFA – A GLOBAL CITIZEN

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari places her identity with the global community and is aimed at working for the betterment of the entire world. Her skydive, ‘Jump for Humanity’, from an altitude of 13000 ft. to raise funds to support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines is the testament to her commitment to help humanity. To aid the Haiyan victims, Ms. Bhutto-Zardari raised £2,516 by taking part in the campaign of a UK-based charity organization Disasters Emergency Committee which is an umbrella group of 14 UK charity organizations working on the disaster relief activities.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also holds the honor of being the first Pakistani to address the mammoth crowd at the Global Citizen Festival 2012 held in United States of America where she urged the global community, on the behalf of Pakistani government and nation, to extend help and cooperation to eradicate polio from Pakistan.

ASEEFA AT OXFORD UNION

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is the youngest from Pakistan and the only Pakistani after her mother, the former premier Benazir Bhutto, to speak at the Oxford Union in November; 2014. She has had the honor of addressing at the Oxford Union at the age of 21.

ASEEFA – A SOCIAL ACTIVIST

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is also a social activist and desires to make improvements in the society. In this regard, she visited a non-governmental organization Dar-ul-Sukun in Karachi (Sindh, Pakistan) to meet the differently abled children and not only she spent quality time with the children, but also assured her complete support to the administration. Moreover, Ms. Bhutto-Zardari has never hesitated in being vocal against any kind of injustice on national or international level and always enunciated her beliefs to make herself counted. Whether it is the illegal execution of a juvenile in Pakistan or any other social injustice, she raises her voice protesting for the due right rights of the citizens.

Ms. Bhutto Zardari also takes keen interest in visiting hospitals, medical universities as well as healthcare centers in Pakistan. Recently, she paid visit to the SMBB Lyari Medical College (Karachi, Sindh) to listen to the grave concerns of the students as well as the administration – she ensured her full cooperation in getting their issues resolved.
